Winter Haven – A Great Place to Live, Work and Play …
Winter Haven has a population of more than 33,000 people It's primary industries are healthcare, agribusiness, distribution, tourism and an emerging technology sector located in the heart of the downtown.
The community completed a 20-year vision in 2000 and our City and its many organizations have worked diligently to implement that vision. An enhanced downtown street scape, new public library, lakefront development standards, Chain of Lakes trail, recycling, green initiatives and a host of other projects are a result of a collective consensus developed during the visioning process and embraced by city government.
Our parks and recreational paths have nearly doubled in the past decade and a large “Integrated Logistics Center” (ILC) planned south of the city by CSX Transportation and Evansville Western Railroad is expected to bring thousands of new jobs and economic vitality over the next 10 to 15 years.
Winter Haven exists in a paradise-like setting between two major metropolitan centers (Tampa and Orlando) with international airports and a myriad of arts, cultural and recreational amenities within a 45 minute drive. You can enjoy a relaxing, family-oriented location with all the excitement of the “big city” just minutes away. It truly is a great place to live, work and play … and quite affordably, too.
