Chamber Presents Human Resource and Employment Law Issues Actual Court Cases Will Illustrate Challenges for Small and Large Businesses

The Greater Winter Haven Chamber will present the first ever Best Business Practices luncheon “What Now Your Honor?” on Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Chamber’s Coleman Auditorium.

In today’s increasingly complex regulatory environment, employers may find themselves facing employee allegations of discrimination or unfair labor practices that all too often result in costly settlements. Employment law affects small and large businesses alike and the consequences of a violation in the area of human resources can be disastrous.

Entitled “What Now Your Honor?”, the seminar will address common human resource and employment law issues by analyzing actual court cases, inviting the audience to join in a discussion of how the employer involved should have handled the situation better. Clark, Campbell, Mawhinney & Lancaster, P.A. and SHR Human Resources, LLC, an affiliate of The NCT Group CPA’s, LLP, have designed a highly informative seminar addressing topical employment law issues.

Kemp Brinson and Don Selvage conduct the seminar. Kemp practices law with Clark, Campbell, Mawhinney & Lancaster, P.A. handling employment law and business litigation cases. Don heads SHR Human Resources, LLC, a company that provides human resources consulting services. Both of them are well versed in employment related issues and will be available to answer your questions.

Admission (includes lunch) is $10 for Winter Haven Chamber members and $20 for non-members. Space is limited, so make your reservation today through this site. No shows will be billed. For more information, call 293-2138. This luncheon is sponsored by Clark, Campbell, Mawhinney & Lancaster, P.A., The NCT Group CPAs, LLP and SHR Human Resources, LLC.

“Best Business Practices” presents practical information designed to help your business become even more successful. The series is presented by Tampa Electric Co., Tinsley Family Concessions, Inc. and Wachovia.
