Cypress Gardens Paradise River Float-A-Thon! - Red Cross and Cypress Gardens
July 19, 2008 at 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Soak up the sun, float away the morning and do it all while helping your local Red Cross this July.
Sign up now to reserve your float at the first-ever Cypress Gardens Paradise River Float-A-Thon! This fun family event is a way to help provide disaster assistance and preparedness programs for your community.
In just the past 12 months, the Red Cross has helped more than 200 families in Polk County who lost homes or property to house and apartment fires. Hurricane Season has just begun, and the Red Cross needs your help to continue to provide assistance, just the way generous people have helped the American Red Cross take care of people for more than 125 years.
We prepare for the worst and hope for the best. With your help, we help others. While you drift with the current at Polk County’s one and only water park, you will raise funds for disaster preparation and relief, as well as support health and safety programs in your community.
So grab a tube at Paradise River, and join the fun. Floaters will need a minimum of $40 in pledges to participate, and will receive free admission to the park for the rest of the day. Arrive at the parking lot by 7:30 a.m. to give yourself time to reach Splash Island by 8 a.m.
Don’t wait any longer. Preregister with the Polk Red Cross. Call (863) 294-5941 or e-mail linda@polkredcross.org.
